The lighting and contrast between the neon blue and black is absolutely stunning. I would probably remove the labels from the spray bottle, but otherwise I really like how beautifully each particle is captured in the image.
Good color choice, it looks nice and clear. The flow in this picture is really nicely represented, a pretty cool flow phenomenon going on. Fascinating! Good photographic technique with your focus and lighting, however the details on the bottle are a little distracting.
1. Artistically the lighting of the image is very interesting.
2. The flow is well illustrated.
3. The photographic technique has very nice highlights and focus.
Good capture and color. The text on the spray bottle is slightly distracting, so using a blank bottle would be better. The particles are spreading non-uniformly which is interesting and may be due to the effects of gravity on the particles as they spread out.
I like the lighting you used in the image, and I think its very creative you used a blue colored light to capture the flow.
The focus is stellar and the blues on a black background make the whole image pop. At first I thought the spray bottle was a little distracting to the flow, but I decided it actually adds a lot to the image. Especially the way the colors match and the hand artistically fades to dark. Great work!
This is a very interesting photo. I like that you know a lot about the flow that is going on and are able to deduce why the photo looks the way it does. I like the technique of adding color gels to the flash.
The blue color of the spray is really great in this photo. The complete black of the background really isolates the subject. The most interesting part of the photo to me is the two phase flow in the center line a distance away from the nozzle. Although from an artistic stand point it’s unfortunate to see the plastic spray bottle from the flow physics stand point I think it gives context and scale.
I like the way that the flash really illuminates the flow in the photo. Curious to know what the end result is for the droplets below the main part of the spray is?
Artistically this is really simple. The color is cool, incorporating more colors would have made this more aesthetically pleasing. Flow is clearly illustrated and image is crisp.
You can pick out every individual droplet of water. The focus is right on. I actually think this photo would be even more impressive if we excluded the spray bottle and tried to make people figure out how it is being made. Just focusing on the flow. I think the gravity acting on the particles is a totally reasonable explanation for why there is more droplets at the bottom.
I appreciated your in depth knowledge of the flow you photographed and the complexity of the lighting set up.
The illumination of the aerosol particles has very crisp focus. I think it may look very interesting to try this experiment with some kind of obstruction in the plane of the motion. Then you may be able to visualize the motion of the illuminated particles around the obstacle.
Very unique photo. It is interesting to see the dispersion and concentration of the fluid created by the flow bottle. I like the use of a clear visible color to depict the flow. The focus on the flow is good!
The image produced is mesmerizing as it seems to replicate the stars in the solar system. The lighting used is perfect as there is a wide range of lighting on the droplets of water. The focus was also perfect as each individual droplet can be seen clearly.
Well done image, with clear and crisp spray. In the future you may want to cover up the product label, as it distracts away from the spray a bit. Fantastic coloring on the image, the deep neon blue really helps it pop.
– Great photo, simple and flow is realized.
– The labeling on the bottle is a bit distracting. Good use of keeping background black.
– It’s cool to see individual particles interact and the physics behind it is.
1. the Focus is great!
2. I like having the spray bottle in the image
3. The color is interesting and good at showing whats happening
-Very pleasing blue color looks great against the black background
-Physics of the spray is revealed in the middle and creates an awesome effect
-Focus is perfect and really makes the image pop
Cool image! The clever lighting makes this a very appealing picture. The triangular spray with the swirl in the middle reveals an effect I didn’t realized happened. Good focus and well exposed
Art: love the dense versus less dense vapor differences
Flow: Plume of spray particles in the middle is stunning
Photography: Great focus on the
The lighting was really well done. The spray bottle is distracting in that the light is reflecting off of it heavily. The details of the flow of the particles are very visible and provide insight to the way the spray bottle works.
Nice detailed image. Flow is easily scene. Effective use of color.
Art: The color contrast between the background and the spray is very nice.
Flow: The flow is quickly understandable and recognized.
Photographic technique: The focus of the spray is great.
