Very dark image. Makes it difficult to see the flow displayed. The tails flowing behind the drips if fascinating.

This photo has a very creative representation of a very interesting flow. I think you might have been able to make a brighter image? Maybe increase the contrast with the upper end of the RGB curve to get the red you’re looking for while brightening up the background.

    1. The red color is interesting and the darker backdrop give a mysterious feel to the image.
    2. The fluid phenomena is well illustrated.
    3. The photographic technique is good with nice highlights in the lower third of the image.

The tails of the red dye make it look like it’s actually red dish soap being poured into the glass rather than food coloring. That is related to the viscosity, or internal friction of the fluid. The food coloring looks like it has a higher viscosity (it looks more thick in consistency) than it likely is. Also, great use of dye color and color editing to make the dye look like blood. If that was your intention, it was absolutely realized.

Nice colors and neat effect with the tales on the drops of food dye. Nice idea to use cold water. I do believe that increasing the brightness in this photo would be more to my taste. If the contrast were also increased the dye may keep the deep reds.

I like the distinct trails visible from the red. The bottom of the glass is a little distracting. There’s a definite ominous feel to the image.

Personally I like the darker image, I know others were not to enthusiastic about it, but I think the darkness brings out a mysterious trait of the image.

The crisp tail of the droplets is really interesting and brings a nice feel to the image. I like how the cold water makes the flow different than the other die diffusing in water.

I enjoy the dark attributes in the image – it has a sense of artistic appeal. Increasing the vibrance will help to bring out the red without sacrificing the dark theme. The flow is represented well, it just could use a little bit of a color boost.

I like the red tails coming off the droplets. They look like a vortex from the droplet falling quickly through the water. Almost resembles turbulent vortex shedding. The image could use some more light to highlight the red. Post-processing more may do the trick.

The red food dye looks pretty much like blood. A very interesting idea. The food dye would be more perspicuous if the background were in light color.

The red color at the bottom is pretty bright but the rest of the image is not. I would recommend not darking it as much so it would be easier to see the food coloring.

Art: The color contrast between the fluid mixing and the background is very subtle.
Flow: The flow is understandable and easily recognized.
Photographic technique: The background is slightly distracting, but the food coloring streams are visually interesting.

    2. It is dark and kinda hard to see
    3. The jar is a bit distracting

The image illustrates a unique visual with the “jet trails” coming from the dye as in diffuses downward. Some added contrast may high light the flow of the dye. You mentioned the goal was to keep darken the image so you may be able to darken it and increase the contrast simultaneously.

Flow: Love the ropes in the air as it sinks
Art: The red and dark has a very erie feeling that is fun
Photography: the lighting could have been a little brighter.

-Nice color or red, looks cool in the water
-Instabilities of dye in water shows the interesting initial mixing
-Overall dark feeling of the image is a cool effect

The dark red gives the image an erie feel. Not the easiest flow to see. Interesting to see how much the dye is spread out.

I really like this photo. The trails are extremely interesting and unpredictable. I think if it was a little brighter you could see the trails more. Looks alive.

The colors give a very interesting dark emotion. very dramatic. I appreciate how well it shows the flow, and so clearly. I would say that the photo is a little dark. Contrast is a little effected.

Interesting image, good contrast between the background and the color. Possibly consider cropping out glasses and the like in the future. Nice high viscosity effects from the decreased temperature.

The red food coloring stands out. However, the lighting and contrast is poor. The fluid flow is clearly visible in the image.

Art: The red colors lends an ominous vibe to the image as if it was blood.
Flow: It’s interesting how some of the food dye will clump together while the others will thin out.
Photography: I think having a higher light source could be better.

    – The colors in this image give a interesting vibe, maybe since Halloween is near.
    – The fluid flow has an interesting texture to it, looks as if the red dye is mixing with a darker red dye.
