Team First – Acrylic Pour

Team First – Acrylic Pour

This is a video of an acrylic pour – an artistic technique which uses a mixture of fluid acrylic paints thickened with a pouring medium known as GAC 800 (made up of an acrylic co-polymer) and, in this case, Floetrol latex paint additive and silicone lubricant oil used to alter viscosity and increase the formation of “cells” — circles of different paint colors bordered by medium with a lower viscosity level.

I love your color choices and choice to show the mixing process and addition of all the ingredients. The process informs the flow but also provides a nice reference of how one could recreate it. Good job, beautiful results!!

It was really nice. It captured an everyday phenomena in a different way than we usually think about it. It looked like everything was surface-driven flow. Some nice coiling can be observed around 1:03. There’s lot of really nice dynamics happening when the board is being tilted and poured.

Awesome video. Love seeing all of the steps. There’s interesting stuff going on in each one. Cinematography and the accompanying music are both great and work well together. Seeing the excess spillage that ran off of the canvas was cool too. Great work.

Great video, the editing and music work very nicely together and the flow is clearly visible. Definitely exudes an upbeat and optimistic mood. I would consider using longer shots to show more of the evolution of the flow, but that might clash with your upbeat music.

Excellent video, love that you included the process. The music made me so happy! I think you should spend a little more time looking at flow – basically extend the clip of the flow at the end; you have the room for it, the music isn’t too short or anything.

I like the colors you chose for the flow. The video feels a bit like a how-to video rather than an artistic video, but if that is the feel you were going for then it worked. Nice depth of field and focus in the video.

Really coo! I like how you filmed the whole process and chose jumpy music! Although I rarely saw a clip looking straight at the pour, it was really cool how you captured what happened beyond the bounds of the canvas. There is a minute of black at the end too.
