One of my favorite things about flow visualization is being able to visualize the math at work in nature. The disturbances from the bird’s wings look much like the small eddies created every time I dip my paddle in to propel myself downstream.

I really like this picture and how it shows the vortex that birds can create while flying.

Amazing combination of the aesthetic and science. Edit makes a strong illusion in this video.

I think this video is absolutely awesome – it captures something we see in nature and turns it into something that helps us understand the physics.

I find this video very memorizing. It is very interesting to see the vortex created by the wings of the bird as it flaps its wings through the smoke.

Physics in nature is so cool! Being able to understand how animals propel themselves can help with human innovation
