Clouds First // Abduljalil Almashama

These are altucumulus clouds near the CU Boulder campus. Taken by my iPhone X at 5:14 pm, August 29. Meta data: Focal length: 4 mm. F number: f/1.8. Exposure time: 1/12,048. Below is the corresponding Skew-T diagram. The CAPE values in the diagram suggests that the atmosphere was not stable at the time.

    I appreciate less post-processing in this photo. It looks very natural, and the natural shading and dispersion of the light against the clouds is beautiful.

    I’m impressed at the shutter speed used. I like how you were able to capture clouds at different altitudes. I like how this image was not edited, as it shows the natural beauty of the sky and the clouds.

    The gradients of blue and the sun rays are really nice to look at! Also it seems like your reading of the skewT diagram accurately reflects what we are seeing in the photo.

    Very nice spotting the darker spots in the clouds and interpretation what that means for the atmospheric conditions during the time you took the picture.
