This is a photo of a non-Newtonian, shear-thickening fluid made from a mixture of cornstarch and water, also known as oobleck. The fluid is running off of a potato masher that was plunged into the fluid and then quickly raised.

I love how the paint has a smooth, thick, and ceramic type of feel.

This image really looks like a terrifying, other-worldly forest. The oobleck itself has really interesting properties and the color you chose for it was a great choice!

I’ve always wanted to experiment with non-newtonian fluid. I love the way that it looked when you drop it from a higher distance like you did. I also like the contrast of your image.

I like how it looks like an eerie alien life form flowing into a greater mass. Very Stranger Things-esqe!

Love the darkness in the background. Also great contrast between the subject and background. Image looks professional and high quality.

I like your choice of editing when you did the post production. I would recommend adding in a color since white tends to lose some of the finer detail in the curves.

Awesome experiment! I like your method for having the fluid dripping off the potato masher.

I like the black background of your image and the focus on the fluid as well. It looks great!

I like the dark background in the top of the image. It helps support the subject in the image.

Great fluid flow shown. The image is kind of eerie with the black and white aspect of the image. What lighting did you use to capture the image?
