This picture was taken on Independence Pass and is of clouds over Rinker Peak outside of Twin Lakes, Colorado. It was taken with a Sony A7III at 9:35 am on October 1st. The clouds seem to be stratus and altostratus.

Below is the Skew-T chart from Grand Junction from the same date the image was taken.

I would frame this picture. I love the mountain peeking through the clouds and seeing how the clouds rest flat on that atmospheric layer.

This image is so beautiful, I love how the peak is being framed by the clouds.
I think you could crop out the road, but I honestly didn’t notice it until it was pointed out.

I really like the color in this photo, the mountain has such vibrant and warm colors that are then contrasted by the soft fluffy white clouds and blue sky. To answer your question, the road could be distracting but everything else in the photo draws your attention from the road.

This image is gorgeous, I love the variety of colors especially in the grasses, and the way that the mountain is peeking through the lower clouds! This is something that could definitely be a desktop background.

This is a beautiful image. The sneak peak to see the mountain is spectacular, it seems like the clouds are almost hugging the mountain. The blue sky above the cloud is surprising because when you are socked in on a mountain, it feels like you will never see the sky again.

I love the shadows from the clouds on the mountain. It really gives the photo a sense of magnitude and power. Such a beautiful picture and I’m so impressed with the colors.

This is a really great image, especially in terms of interestingness and color variety with the clouds, lake, aspen trees, and bushes. I also really like the clouds wrapped around the mountain that you captured here, and its cool to see the huge thickness of these clouds seen in the picture all the way up behind the mountain reflected in the skew-t diagram by the proximity of the temp and dew point lines for a wide variety of elevations.
