IV3 // William Watkins

This video shows the fluid flow phenomenon behind food coloring put in Ooblek that is fixed to a shake table. The Ooblek was put in a Tupperware container that was taped to the shake table. The shake table was shaking at a frequency of 10 Hz slowly increasing to 15 Hz in one minute. I used two LED lights with tripods for lighting.

The music is Watercolor Long which is part of the iMovie Built-in audio.

    I love the way the colors mix, I would have loved to see another angle on this though. I think you captured something really cool though!

    It is pretty interesting to see how the colors do not exactly mix with each other, I wonder if they have different densities or compositions?

    There’s a lot of interesting flow phenomenon that you were able to capture using the dye. A lot to unpack to the video nice job!

    I love the propagation of the dye as the vibrations push it away from the edges and towards the center. The color choices are really good as well as they are clearly distinguishable. The different shades within the color also really add to differentiating what is happening through the flow.

    This video is awesome, very scientific visualization of the flow in the system using the spaced-out dots! Also nice stabilization so we can see what’s going on in the center!

    It’s cool to watch the colors converge and move across the white surface of the oobleck. It reminds me of the magic milk experiment. Good color and music choice as well!
