Tea Leaves Paradox

This experiment demonstrates the tea leaves paradox using two liquids of different densities: oil and water (red). The stirring causes a vortex to form at the surface, which drops the surface level and creates a pressure difference that causes the more dense fluid to collect at the center. Intuition would lead you to believe that the denser fluid would NOT exhibit this behavior, but rather collect at the outer rim of the cup.

    Really like the color and density of the oil in the cup. Looks really cool, reminds me of a lava lamp

    I really like the action of this shot. I think the bubbles are a great way to visualize the flow.
