Bioluminescent waves & aurora borealis

This photo by Kris Williams is absolutely stunning. It captures the beautiful colors of the aurora borealis in the background and neon blue water created by wave-disturbed bio-luminescent phytoplankton in the foreground.  The warm glow of both the aurora and bio-luminescence as the sun sets makes for an amazing shot.  It is just dark enough to see the bio-luminescence yet still see the sun’s reflection off of the rocks.

3rd Place. Beautiful aurora in sky reflect blue waterfalls on the ground. Wonderful color distribution.
