This picture is great, the colors really add to what is going on and the detail is fantastic. I think a more uniform background would help, but this phenomenon is really cool.

The globs of oil on the water look really cool and they are well focused on the photo. It is also close enough that you can see a lot of the detail that’s happening. I think its a great photo but maybe using a dark background and a closer crop with a larger F-Stop could improve the look a little.

Your photo shows tons of detail, and the color of the oil is well isolated by the background. The low angle you chose lets light refract through the water underneath, making the spheres of oil further away from the camera appear magnified. Was this an intentional decision? Either way, the end result is cool. Did you have issues with the minimum focal distance of the lens? You could even crop closer to remove the overexposed top section of the reflection on the right.

I like the bubbles accumulating at the top, it’s interesting to see. The color is nice too. I agree that the white line is distracting on the right, perhaps a more contained environment and external lighting may help a lot

I like the angle of the camera when the picture was taken it is clearly shows the bubbles. The picture looks good overall. The lighting is good.

Pretty nice image clearly illustrates the phenomena as well as the aesthetic. Maybe the light needs furhter adjustment

You did a great job of making a sharp image and defining the bubbles. In the future I would reccomend changing the lighting.

The gold/yellow of the bubbles really pops with the background. How did you control the turbulence and creation of bubbles?

I like how you used the depth of field to keep the front of the glass in focus and the back of the glass out. You have an effective use of colors with the gold and white.

I like the sharpness of the bubbles. The flow is clearly visible. I would suggest managing the light for the next picture so that the light is not taking away from the focal point of the image.

The shape and color of the orbs of oil is interesting and enjoyable to look at. The focus and depth of field are pleasing as well. The glare on the glass is somewhat distracting but it is out of the way of the most interesting areas.

The intent is clear and the image is attractive. The lighting could be softer to limit the refection.

The photo is well centered and sharp. The contrast is well and really shows distinct features. The Exposure on the top right is unfortunate but maybe just crop more out. Good Job!

The depth of field you achieved here is very visually pleasing. I think you could have spent a little more time polishing the glass to get rid of the reflections and smudges. Maybe you could even crop the image so that only the top left corner of the image is visible.

  • I think this is a really nice image! The field of view is really nice, and you did a good job cropping to just the important information (you may be able to crop a smidge more off the image, but overall it looks good). The reflection on the right is a bit distracting, but doesn’t detract too much from the image. I think you captured the physics really well, of and they look like self-contained balls rather than drops of oil which is really cool. Nice job!

I like the effect of the curved glass on the visualization and enlargement of the oil bubbles. The composition of this shot is nice and the shot is in good focus. I am interested in how the reflection on the right side of the glass was achieved and whether that was intentional. If it wasn’t intentional it may be useful to shoot outdoors on a cloudy day or in more even lighting.

I really like the creative angle that you took the picture with and how you focused on the texture of the oil. The details of the flow are clearly visible. Taking away the glare could potentially make it clearer.

The bubbles towards the front of the image look great and are really cool!
I wonder if you could frame it better so that the oil is the main focus, as there is a lot of space in the image that does not focus on the subject
The white reflection is very distracting but I understand the problem with lighting

The upper right of the glass has a fingerprint smudge which is a little distracting. Maybe just clean up the glass before taking it. I do enjoy the none uniform “bubble” formation.

The shape of oil ball looks great. It is pretty clear to see each individual oil liquid. The focus point is precise as well. Good job!

I really like how you focus on the bubbles right in front of the glass. This small field of view makes the rest of the image less distracting and also makes it visually appealing. It might be helpful to go outside to take this, just to get the light right.

The oil bubbles look awesome, very ethereal. The quality of the glass is a little poor, it’s slightly smudgy, and the bright bar on the right side is bright enough to be distracting, but I’m not exactly sure what you could’ve done to prevent that so I’m not sure if I can critique it.
I like how the bubbles closest to the camera are in focus but the ones further away look blurry. It adds a lot of artistic flair.

The focus on the oil bubble is well done. Blurred bubbles towards the back add to the photograph. White stripe on the glass from lighting could go without

Is this phenomena relate because of surface tension? Maybe diffusion? I think this really captures it nicely.

  • The focus on the top bubbles is very clear and distinguishes them quite well! It is understandable that it would be hard to photograph the actual bubbles moving.

The image looks great! I like that the focus is on the oil bubbles. The flow is a cool image and how the bubbles have yet to combine to a solid film.

The picture captures a very unique image! The bubbles are in focus, but like you mentioned they unfortunately a bit grainy. A possible suggestion for next time would be to add some color to the water to create an even more contrast than you already have!

Like the close up picture can see a lot of detail to the photo. Could try to eliminate the grainy detail at the bottom. Like the example of buoyancy and differences in density.
