    This is a great visualization of the Leidenfrost effect. I really like how you managed to capture drops at different heights above the hot plate, plus one about to to hit the hot plate. One small nitpick is the far left side of the hot plate got cut off, but otherwise, the framing and lighting are really solid.

    I like you made the background/bottom such that the focus is entirely on those drops. Made me appreciate the phenomena even more.

    The top drop looks like the main character, “Jack” from the movie Nightmare Before Christmas! Also to answer your question, a student explained that the temperature is above the boiling point so the bottom layer starts to evaporate, the drop forms a layer of gas and isolates it, so it floats and then lets it stay there longer, if a new gas is formed then it runs off.”

    Great image! I think the best attempt for this effect. The lighting works really well to put the motion on sort of a pedestal.

    I think the lighting in this image is perfect! It almost looks like water bouncing on a tree stump. I love how clear the water droplets were!

    I like how the subject of the shot is surrounded by a black background. It really makes the viewer able to focus on the droplets of water.

    The image is a great visualization of the Leidenfrost effect. The focus on the image is perfect for the drops in the middle of the hot plate. I love the stillness of the image with the spherical water droplets.
