2025 Get Wet

This video was made out of hundreds of images taken using a camera with a highspeed capture function. It shows the Worthington jets that form when a droplet of water lands in a body of water as well as the vortex rings that occur. From the footage, it appears that the rings are caused by the droplets ejected from the Worthington jets rather than the initial droplet.

Great job capturing the jet and the vortex rings! What frame rate did you use to record the video? Do you think that increasing your frame rate at the expense of resolution would be a good tradeoff?

I really like how you captured the drop entrance and that you can see the surface tension.

I think the color contrast is really interesting and vibrant.

The contrast between the water and the dye is very helpful, and the effect is very cool. I like the professional-ness of the video and presentation.
