2025 Team First

This image is of exhaust backfire from a motorcycle exhaust. The bursts of flames only last for a fraction of a second, so a video with screen capturing at specific frames is needed to fully see the flame structure. The exhaust flame burns blue because it is a heavily oxygen rich combustion occurring at the exit of the exhaust. The laminar jet exiting the exhaust pipe quickly turns turbulent before dying out quenching in the surrounding atmosphere.

  • The vivid blue vs black background in this image is really striking!

Permissioned opinion: I prefer your editing to mine and the way your blue color is teal and almost green is nice. I also liked how you chose an image from a different point of view, making the shape unqiue
