Cumulus or stratocumulus being blown over the mountainside from the west mixing with altostratus (?) above the northern non-mountainous terrain. Stable atmosphere on non-mountainous side, semi-unstable atmosphere in the mountains.

I really like what you accomplished with editing. Really brought out the details in the clouds and the black mountains are a very cool touch.

I really enjoy the contrast in the edited version of the photo! I’m curious, what exact post-processing steps did you take to bring out both the dark mountains and the bright blue sky?
Hey Alana, here’s my exact edits from lightroom:
Temp – brought up the warmth a little to 5932 (my camera has weird temperature settings though so your numbers may be a range more in the double digits)
Exposure -0.23
Highlights +17
Shadows -26
Whites +28
Blacks -16
Vibrance +8
Saturation +4
S curve on the tone curve
The contrast on this is great! I love the silhouette of the mountains, it makes the image very dramatic.
