Almost 4 kilometers above ground level, we have a massive floor of clouds during a beautiful sunset. There are numerous altocumulus clouds blanketed by a thick layer of altostratus clouds. Far off in the distance near the center of the image, we see rare lenticular clouds most likely hovering over the 14,000′ Mt. Blue Sky nearly 30 miles behind the pictured Flat Irons. The emergence of flat, homogenous clouds like stratus clouds and the clear blue sky immediately behind is good evidence of a stable atmosphere.

The sharpness of the buildings and cars really makes the clouds pop. The clouds look almost ethereal with the gold hues.

I think the clarity and color of this image really makes it stand out.
