This artist likes to photograph the textures of waves using the light from sunrises and sunsets. I really enjoy this pictures because of how it shows the water of the ocean in such a smooth and peaceful manner. Usually when I think about the ocean water, it is rough and chaotic, but this image is extremely peaceful and beautiful. I think the use of the sunrise or sunset to create the highlights in the water is great, and is overall a super cool picture, even including the clouds in the background.

Second Prize- This almost couldn’t believe this image is real. The way the water reflects the light makes it look to perfect to be natural and yet it is. I love how it shows how surface tension can hold the shape of water in weird ways and the light just works so well here.
First Prize – I really like that you can see the flow just below the surface right before the surface tension breaks and you begin to get those white peaks. The coloring is also really nice.
Second Place – Picking this one for second because of the timing. Right when the wave curls, the sunset light shoots through the gap and it looks like gold pouring through water.
Second Prize – The definition in this image is incredible I really like how the water looks like a fabric. The reflection of the sun on the water is also amazing.
Third Prize: This is a beautiful capture of a process that happens so quickly. Here it looks almost suspended in time. The lighting reflecting in the trough and the clean curves coming out of this region make the photo unique.
Third Prize – It’s amazing how the photographer was able to make the water look like glass. A perfectly undisturbed wave.
Second Prize – I believe this image takes first place because of the beautiful texture in the chaos of the ocean. The timing required to take this picture must have been perfect.
