Photo of clouds above the foothills, taken from Chautauqua on 8/30/2026 at 6:40pm. I am most interested in the cumulus cloud condensing as it comes off the mountain. Above the little rising cumulus we see altostratus and altocumulus clouds. This is a slightly unstable atmosphere.

I really like the pattern the clouds are creating! My eye is drawn to the cloud in the bottom middle of the image, which almost looks like it is falling from the sky. I also like how you edited the photo to make the mountains appear darker so they don’t take attention away from the clouds. It’s also interesting how the clouds seem to be at different heights.
