Early wind tunnel tests were done secretly which makes images hard to find. Woolen tufts were used to visualize flow patterns. The car rests on hanging supports, to measure downforce on the front and rear independently.

Third prize: really neat photo. I don’t think I’ve ever seen another car in a wind tunnel. That’s really interesting with the wooden tufts and how they hang the car. Well done!
