This image depicts NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope launching, superimposed over the sun. Visible are the hot exhaust plumes shadowing / refracting below the rocket, as well as shock waves forming around the rocket. It looks almost water like.
I thought this was one of the coolest photo’s I had ever seen when I saw this. From an artistic perspective, this photograph is amazingly composed, the colors and structure are very well done. From a physics perspective, it is just awesome. One would hardly hope to capture a photo where the sun is natural exposing the air disturbances.
