Team Third – Sarah Hartin
This photo depicts a layer of vegetable oil on top of water. Due to the different densities of the liquids, the vegetable oil remains on top of the water. A combination of water soluble food dye and water was inserted into the vegetable oil layer, where it remains in a spherical shape as it sinks through the oil and into the water layer.
This photo was taken using a Nikon D5500 camera with a 18-55 mm lens at a focal length of 50 mm, an f-stop of f/f/7.1, ISO of 250, and shutter speed of 1/50 s.
