Chemiluminescent drops lie beneath water

Get Wet – K. Gresh and J. Julian

Great contrast between the fluid and background. The fluid is slightly out of focus. Overall a neat display of fluid mixing.

I like the large contrast between the colors and the background. Pretty cool representation of the fluids. Unfortunately it looks like ISO is a struggle for this photo, perhaps you have used a tripod and a longer shutter time (what shutter speed did you use?)?

    – Interesting photo, the neon colors are bright but seem a bit clashing with each other.
    – It remind me of some sort of chemical reaction.

The use of bright, neon colors makes this an interesting photo. The flow is unique in the way that one would think adding the fluids would mix or diffuse through, but it seems like the blue sections seem to hold their own. Possibly more contrast or better focus.

Cool idea to use a glowing fluid. I like the colors, especially the contrast of the blue/violet glow against the yellow/green. The need to use high ISO was unfortunate. An alternate option may have been to take a photo of the fluids once they had come to rest which would have allowed a low ISO by using a long exposure (with the camera on a tripod).

Really creative image. The neon colors contrast well with the dark background. Great focus.

I like the idea of using glow sticks in water. The colors working together is very cool and I like that you didn’t focus mainly on one color of a glowstick. Its easy to understand the flow and you use a great background to bring out the vibrant colors.

I like the really unique idea of this image. The bright colors and contrast bring some good depth to the image. Nice work capturing this in a tough lighting situation.

I like the range of colors, but the ISO makes it a little fuzzy with sensor noise. The only real way around this would be an expensive camera for high ISO with low noise since the luminescence requires the dark setting.

This image has great contrast between the black background and the fluid. The image could use a little bit of clarity improvements to highlight the bubbles better.

Art: Very bright colors draws the viewer’s attention to it.

Flow: Interesting to see how the fluids interact with each other.

Photography: A bit fuzzy but it seems like that was what the photographer was going for.

A wide range and vibrant colors. The mixing of the fluids gives nice contrast along with the dark background. Aesthetically pleasing.

Interesting mix of colors. Flow is creative. Can see many different textures. Nice to see the bubbles in a different color from the surrounding yellow.

Very cool combination of blue glow stick fluid drops in a yellow, orange, green, and red pool of other glow stick fluids. The focus is good on the front, beaded blue droplets. The surface tension differences make the image look like a lava lamp. It would be cool to capture a few of the falling droplets in focus as well. Great job!

I really enjoy the contrast in the image, the black to the colorful glow sticks below. I would recommended maybe using a different style to capture the image, especially in focus (if that is even possible). I enjoy the flow of the fluid because it is dynamic as you are dropping fluid.

    1. Beautiful colors and contrast with the background
    2. I like the focus on the bubbles
    3. The image seems a bit foggy but I have no idea why, maybe there is not enough light.

I appreciate the central focus on the photo. I was surprised to here you had such a high fstop. personally I would have liked to see the particles in the air a little more clearly. I am very impressed with the unique coloring.

GLOW STICKS!!!! Beautiful image, really enjoy your use of glow stick fluid. The pitch black background helps to bring out the colors in the image. Exposure well done, and nice work with the post processing. Possibly lower the ISO a little next time, the image appears to have some graininess.

Interesting to see all of the different colors mixing together I didn’t realize how many different colors were in glowsticks. Interesting interaction. They obviously have different densities which is interesting.
