Dropped Umbrella

Two drops are interacting—one has fallen into the water and has recoiled upwards. The other drop has smashed into the first one. They form an umbrella-like pattern. Report

The focus is really good on this picture and then colors are great .

The focus and exposure were great in this image. The focus definitely showcases the high resolution as well. I would love to try to replicate an experiment like this.

Wow, it’s crazy how you captured that umbrella, it reminds me of a beach in a blue ocean! I’m wondering how you got that black/ white background?

The colors and contrast are outstanding. It gives me the impression of a wild mushroom.

This is a very interesting image. I like the color that you chose to make the liquid. I would try to make your background one color next time, the difference I find distracting. I like the softness that you achieved with your camera though. Nice image overall.

Really like how focused the umbrella is. I also like the fact that the umbrella is slightly offset, wonder if it is due to a slight misallignment?

Nice focus for the image overall. The timing of the image makes for a great picture. I enjoy the shadow that is casted by the umbrella.

Great lighting, I love the visible texture of the surface of the milk, and the very striking “umbrella” is nicely framed in the center. Very crisp time resolution that makes the impact seem frozen in time.

This doesn’t look like fluid. It looks very rigid. I really like the transparency and different color of blue in the very top droplet.

Great lighting used as the droplet umbrella casts a shadow over the plume. Amazing how the reflection of the umbrella is captured on the surface.

I like this image a lot. The timing of the photo was perfect and I think is creates a cool mushroom shape to it. This creates a very natural feel to the image which is inviting.

Love the soft colors and soft texture of the milk that’s out of focus. And excellent capture of the flow.

The coloring of the blue milk against the white background makes for a visually appealing photo. This was a perfectly timed picture to get such cool shape of the water droplet. Great focus and shutter speed to get such a crisp image. Well done!

This is definitely my favorite photo of the water/milk drop photos. I like how the second part of the drop is attached to the jet. The beads coming off of the umbrella are really cool as well. Good focus and color in the image.

I like how this photo looks so natural, like a mushroom growing out of the ground. It gives the photo multiple meanings, I can view it as a beautiful visualization of flow but also as a representation of life as well. The framing is great and the shutter speed was quick enough to show a lot of detail in the instant of the collision

It’s interesting to see the top of the umbrella hover just over the water. It’s looks like a still scene rather than a flow. It’s really beautiful.

I like the odd angle that the splashing and flow is happening in. The umbrella shape is really cool shape due to the collision of separate drops.

This is really cool. In planet earth they have slow-motion videos of fungi growing, and this looks like it could be a still from that. Very clear image.
