AJ Corne – Get Wet

2023 Get Wet

This is a photo of blue and red food coloring settling at the bottom of a glass of water. This image is to visualize diffusion as well as the effect of density differences between liquids. Since the food coloring is more dense than the water it sinks to the bottom of the glass, only leaving trails of color at the top.

    Hello AJ,
Great job showing off a wide range of colors in your project! I really like the perspective of looking into the glass! I think you did a great job at getting the whole image in rough focus. It really shows up the whole composition of the glass and the fluids. Great work!

The lighting and contrast in this image is awesome! It reminds me of the interstellar pictures online taken from space telescopes. Well done!

Super cool image, reminds me of an eye! I wonder what would happen if you agitated the glass once all of the dye is at the bottom. It’s cool how the water acts as a boundary layer and the color diffusion stops once it hits the water boundary.
