Alexandr Vassilyev – Team First

For our project, our team decided to focus on a phenomenon called ‘snap-freezing’. This occurs when distilled water contains a particle, usually salt, that is added to help the formation of ice crystals. When the mixture is at or near the freezing point of water, it can be shaken to rapidly indue freezing. This effect can be seen in the videos of my teammates. I chose to capture a still image of snap freezing occurring, shown above.

    I think this is a great photo. The color palette is very different from other photos I have seen in this class, which I think is awesome.

    I like how the image looks, the color pallet is very cool. There is also a lot of detail in the image, which is hard to achieve.

    I absolutely love the amount of detail resolved in this image. It looks like glass artwork. The bubbles and ice crystals also give it an organic feel.

    I think you could have cropped the image a little. Otherwise good explanation of the physics.
