This photo was taken to visualize rheoscopic fluid by way of glitter particles in a mixed alcoholic drink. The base drink is made of rose and blue curacao with red glitter as the base. A slurry of concentrated green glitter in water was poured into the vat of an unholy cocktail. The glitter has such a large particle size that it looks grainy, but that is actually each glitter particle. A large particle size caused quite a bit of internal friction, so the fluid motion was easy to capture as it was fairly slow. This photo was taken on a Canon EOS Rebel with the following settings: 44mm, f/5.6, 1/250 sec, ISO 6400, EXP 0. This photo was only cropped and rotated about 10 degrees to eliminate the container in view.

Here is a swirl in the same vat in another run of the same experiment:

Here is the same type of experiment (with same cocktail base) but as a spooky, fall theme:

I really like how you were able to capture motion in that top photo.

I like the texture you were able to capture, it feels ethereal in a way.

I really like how the difference in colors highlights the vortices in the fluid.
