This picture of dyed honey in a petri dish was taken using a Canon Rebel T3i DSLR camera while the dish was over top a light plate.
To get this image, honey was poured into the dish and given time to flatten before blue food dye was added. After the blue was sufficiently diffused, more honey was coiled on top, leaving those lines of concentrated blue dye that you can see in the image. Then red dye was layered in, and the picture was taken as it expanded over the patterns of coils.
This picture was taken with the help of Tandralee Chetia and Rachel Marbaker.

I love how saturated the colors are and the way the red and blue contrast so much, creating a very vibrant image.
I love the coloring of this image, so bright and vibrant. Did you light this plate from underneath or is the light coming from an overhead external source?
I agree with Stella, at first glance, this resembled a glass rose! Super cool image with very vibrant colors!
I really loved your image; reminds me of a rose! Super cool
Hey Riley! I’m loving the contrast of colors you have in this photo. I love how the blue dye seemingly pools at the edges of the coils giving a hint at the process it took to make this image.
