This image was captured on October 4th, 2025 at 6:39pm MDT. This was taken on Oxford Road, a few miles Southeast of Longmont (40.11716°N, 105.06409°W) while I was facing Northwest. The main cloud formations featured in this photo are stratocumulus clouds (toward the right) and nimbostratus clouds (toward the lower left). The atmosphere for these clouds appears to be slightly unstable at the formation of clouds, around 450 mb (CAPE value of 123.9 also indicates this slight instability).

I really like how you were able to emphasize the light coming through the clouds. It really outlines the shape of the clouds and helps identify them.
This image has brilliant blue tones and you nailed the contrast. It perfectly encapsulates a cold, stormy feeling.
Very dramatic and interesting, great contrast you brought out in the editing. I do like the field shown in the bottom in the unedited photo as it gives some context to the image in terms of scale, but the cropping choice really lets us focus on the clouds so that was also a good choice. Great image!
Hey Alana, I love how expansive this picture looks. The farm fields really allowed a broad view of the clouds. I also like how this captures some turbulence in the clouds/atmosphere. Great work!
