This video shows global ocean surface currents. The authors used satellite and in-situ data of the ocean and sea-ice at a high enough spatial resolution to view phenomena such as ocean eddies and other narrow current systems. As someone who works with a lot of satellite imagery, I appreciate how the authors were able to capture complex systems, but present them in a very accessible and aesthetic way. I find the video very mesmerizing and relaxing to watch. The contrast of the white currents against the darker background also makes it easy for the viewer to follow the currents.
