$20+ M mistake and a fascinating flow visualization photo: this image captures the moment Capt. Christopher Stricklin ejected out of his F16 in less than 1s before impact. It shows the flames from the rocket motor seat still burning as it forces the pilot in the negative z direction (in accordance with standard aircraft axis convention), a rapidly expanding smoke cloud behind him in the negative x direction, along with spectators and cars in the background putting the focus on the ejection and impending crash. The physics of the ejection, along with the landscape pointing the focus on the F16, makes this an excellent representation of flow visualization.
