This is an image of altocumulus clouds captured in Hayden, CO on September 5, 2026 at 6:32 pm. The clouds display iridescence as the sunlight travels through them and refracts. The identity of the clouds was determined by using the Skew-T diagram from Grand Junction at 00Z on September 6. Clouds were most likely to form around ~5000m, and the astmosphere here was stable.
