These seem to be cumulus clouds due to their rounded and fluffy appearance. Based on the Skew-T diagram, the atmosphere appears to have been slightly unstable. This is also consistent with my memory of the day being very hot, since surface heating can help drive convection

The lighting in this photo is fantastic. This is the first photo for this assignment where i have seen these sun rays coming out of the clouds, and it really grabbed my attention. I also love the gradient of blues in the sky in this photo. Very nicely done!
