Jonathan Pizarro – Cloud First

Jonathan Pizarro – Cloud First

The image shows Cumulus clouds, which are associated with convective activity and atmospheric instability. I took this image on October 5th, 2026 and the Skew-T diagram represents a conditionally unstable atmosphere with warm, moist air near the surface and decreasing temperatures with altitude.

This visual of the clouds is awesome! This is the first image I have seen that is taken in portrait, which helped me to get scale on how tall the sky is and just how high up the clouds were. One critique that I do have is that the barbed wire fence in the bottom of the photo distracted me and took away from the awesome landscape and clouds, so I would consider cropping it out of the photo in the future. Good work!
