In certain regions, the specific zonal jets that produce Jupiter’s distinct banded patterns begin to break down, thus producing turbulent and chaotic patterns and structures that evolve rapidly. I believe this was a good example of flow visualization, as the turbulent currents are clear and well contrasted to the backdrop of space. The variation in color between the numerous involved flows also creates a contrast between them.

I think this is a beautiful photo that depicts great science while being aesthetically pleasing. The swirls of colors contrasted with the distant black background enhance the flows. Scientifically, its a great photo that shows our advancements in technology while providing information on Jupiter’s atmosphere.
