Zack Cymanski: Clouds First

Zack Cymanski: Clouds First

The clouds above seem to be cirrostratus in a stable atmosphere.

The clouds below are a mixture of cumulus and cumulonimbus and possibly stratus clouds in the distance.

Below is a Skew-T plot of Davenport because that is the direction I was looking towards in the plane.

This is a spectacular image! The image from above is a sight that we do not see that often great work thinking outside of the box!

What a neat perspective! The dynamic range is impressive, and the detail present really makes the image pop. The clouds are fascinating to look at, and a sense of scale is really imposed. Great photo!

One of my favorite views of all time! Window seats all the way when it comes to flying! Love how many towers that are shown here, it’s a great display of the way air moves. Amazing photo, even though it was made with your phone.

Really great job capturing the detail of the towers. It looks like a city skyline almost. Great perspective. Impressive that the window had no distracting elements.

This is an incredible image! I would not have guessed that you took it with a camera phone through the normally scratched windows of a commercial plane. This is very high quality and impressive to look at. I am actually from Madison, Wisconsin. They had record rainfalls in September. My dad’s friend who lives in La Crosse, Wisconsin (Southwest edge of the state) recorded 15 inches in September, which isn’t far off from the average annual rainfall around 20 in per summer. I winder how many of these towering cumulus clouds attributed to that. Overall, great job capturing this image!

Nice photo from your window. Images through plane windows are frequently disappointing but this one turned out really well. The lightning is good. The textures of the cumulus clouds and the wide range of heights are both clear to see. It looks like the later phases of a large convective cell was also captured in the upper right.

Airplane view is awesome. Very interesting phenomenon with the growing cumulus clouds coming out of the stratus.

Stunning image! Being in the sky is a great way to get cloud images. The image is really clear considering airplane windows are pretty beat up. Love the fluffiness

Cool new perspective. Really lets us see how tall those clouds can really get. The towering ones in the middle are very nice to the eye. From a photographic perspective, the contrast is just about perfect, and the two tone nature of just blues and whites is nice as well. YOu must have had a clean window, looks very sharp.

I’m a sucker for photos taken from plane windows. This shows some amazing cloud formations, and different cloud towers.

WOW. Thank you planes for making pictures like this possible. There are so many towers to look at. The focus is good and the exposure is good. Nice photo for a camera.

Art: This is definitely one of my most favorite cloud images. I really enjoy the boundary of the unstable clouds with the stable clouds above.
Flow: The flow is quickly understandable and easily recognized.
Photographic technique: The focus of the clouds is great, especially considering that this was taken looking out of an airplane.

This image displays multiple types of cloud formations and the macro scale perspective from the plane, above all the formations offers a very interesting perspective of the physics.

I like how the photo seems to be between two layers of clouds. nice perspective and a good job capturing the image through the plane window to not catch any distortion in the photo.

Super cool location to snap the photo. It’s not often we get to see the top view of clouds. Really neat to see the different layers of clouds.
